Family-friendly wildlife activities to do over March break

By Julian Victor - On The Wild Side

You’re never too old or too young to start embracing your ‘wild’ side! Here are some fun (and educational) activities to do over March break with your family:

Visit a zoo – there are great Zoo’s for families to visit across Canada!

Visit a wildlife sanctuary — Just make sure it’s accredited/approved and not roadside!

These places offer fun and educational opportunities to learn about different animals and their habitats.

Go for a hike — whether it be a nature excursion or a relaxing walk through a nature trail, spending time in the outdoors is one of the best ways to spend a free day.

Other resources:

Seek by INaturalist is an app similar to Shazam (but for nature). Simply take a photo — and info about the plant OR animal pops up! Plus, if you turn on the GPS on your phone it can tell you what animals are in the area!
